If tghey go D2D at all, I'm quite certain it doesn't amount to much more than a perfunctory couple of hours here and there; certainly no extensive record-keeping or return visits, or driving around for hours making calls interspersed with Starbucks breaks. When I was in Bethelo and assigned to the Brooklyn Heights congregation, I assisted the Assistant Congregation Servant (Harold Dies, I believe it was at the time) with compiling of field service reports and got to see those for several of the biggies, including Knorr... never more than just a few hours, never double digits... likely little more than counting the time spent delivering talks.

IS THERE PROOF THE GOVERNING BODY PREACH DOOR TO DOOR? Real Proof Please!
by ÁrbolesdeArabia ini heard very few if any, of the new members on the governing body actually go out in field service more than three hours a month.
is there a reason why the governing body would excuse themselves from the master's commandments?
jesus christ never said "spending time writing rules and regulations" was part of matthew 28. .

How the new light on the domestics may backfire on the Watchtower Society
by yadda yadda 2 inthe new light is a bit of give and take by the gb.
they have taken upon themselves the title of the faithful and discreet slave, in exchange for pushing the 'appointment over all of his [christ's] belongings' out into the future, and also in exchange for allowing the earthly class to be counted as 'domestics'.
the gb can now totally lord it as kings over the flock in exchange for having "dignified" them by including them as domestics.

The "new light" seems to me to be more about the demotion of the non-GB partakers than it is about the elevation of the Great Crowd to the status of domestics. This should finally disabuse the "anointed" partakers of any lingering notion that they have prerogatives or rights to be consulted on matters of doctrine, "new Light" or policy.

What is it about the game Soccer that brings out the most destructive behaviour of a minority of fans, which seems to be a global problem
by smiddy inin europe ,south america ,and elsewhere ,riotous behaviour seems to go hand in hand with soccer fans , destruction of property and even death has occured why is that ?
we have just recently had an episode at etihad stadium in melbourne this past weekend where thousands of dollars damage was caused and flares ignited which could have caused injury to spectators, who , would have included families with children who just wanted to enjoy the game .i beleive their were something like 40000 spectators present ,which in all fairness mostly were well behaved, except for this lawless minority.. melbourne is not used to this behaviour at sporting events ,many of our events host thousands more spectators without anywhere near the trouble that was had at the weekend .. australian rules football , afl in victoria ,certainly produces fanatical supporters , me included , at some games 60 , 80, 100,000 in attendance ,yet never apart from a fight breaking out here or their , have we ever experienced something like that .. so , what is wrong with soccer league fans .
smiddy.

Still Waiting For the Governing Body To Explain Their New Light
by Cameron_Don inregarding the governing bodys new light relative to matthew 24:45-47, anointedjw.org recently said the following:.
this new light certainly poses a problem for the governing body.
perhaps this is another reason why they have not yet published a sober and scriptural xplanation of this new light.

Splash said " in 1919 Jesus appoints a FDS to feed the household.... Still future, Jesus inspects the FDS. If they have been faithful etc, Jesus appoints the FDS over all his belongings."
So "if" is the operative word here: What "if", on that future day, as Daniel would say "they are weighed in the balances and found wanting"?? Or is their approval a foregone conclusion?

Newbie Again (Kinda Sorta)
by lostinnj83 ini made my first post (which i have attached) more than 2.5 years ago.. sad to say i am still in the same situation.
still "physically in" but have mentally been gone for years.
i am still in my marriage and unfortunatly things have not gotten any better as far as me being able to help him see the light as far as the organization.. i am at a serious crossroad though because i am almost 30 years old, with no children.

"sad" and "similar" are the two adjectives that apply to your story... lots of us here -- maybe too many of us -- can relate - welcome back....

Rebuttals for having an independent attitude or spirit.
by Emery ini am looking for rebuttals on this statement.
i find it reprehensive when they preach this from the platform, they do not want jws (who are individuals) to have any individuality.
they want people to be their personal robots with no free will.

It all fits with their current priorities -- property acquistion and development, not preaching.

I still think the bigger issue is that Jesus did not inspect the org in 1918/19... that's a future thing. " Just as Leaving Quietly points out, this is huge... it leaves open the possibility that when the Master makes his determination, he could label them as "Wicked Slave," if the parable is to be interpreted straightforwardly... I just wonder how they're going to address that... probably by ignoring and then stonewalling it.

NOAHS BIBLICAL FLOOD ACTUALLY HAPPENED, SAYS FAMED ARCHEOLOGIST WHO FOUND THE TITANIC
by ÁrbolesdeArabia inhttp://www.theblaze.com/stories/2012/12/11/noahs-biblical-flood-actually-happened-says-famed-archeologist-who-found-the-titanic/ .
"the story of noah's ark and its associated flood continues to be retold to children and studied by theologians, alike.
while some dismiss it as a mere fable, others believe wholeheartedly that the event literally unfolded, with a massive down-pouring of water ravaging the earth at god's command.

Also, in the Ballard hypothesis, his 7,000-year ago estimate predates the Society's 4026 BCE calculation for the creation of Adam. Then too: " The land that went under stayed under"... weren't the waters supposed to recede?
